Frome Carnival's Children's Procession is a fantastic opportunity to see and celebrate the creative spirit of the town and its young people. There is always music and a vast spectacle of costumes, dancing, and family entertainment. This is a great way to get you in the spirit for the evening event.
The Children's Procession starts at Victoria Park and moves up Weymouth Road, then left along Somerset Road, turning left along the Butts, down Wesley Slope and along Christchurch Street West. The procession turns left one last time travelling back up Weymouth Road to Victoria Park.
Cars will not be allowed to park in Victoria Park.
Parking restrictions will be in force along the carnival route. Cars will NOT be able to park along Weymouth Road or Christchurch Street West. Parking along here blocks the procession and makes it dangerous for the children in the procession. Thank you for helping your carnival.
Evening Procession starts from Marston Trading Estate at 7pmGo to map
Frome's annual illuminated procession is promising to be bigger and better than ever before. This year the event will be led by a parade of classic vehicles, followed by bands, performers, and of course illuminated floats. There will be lights, costume and music!!
After you have enjoyed the procession you can enjoy the fun fair in the town centre and pick up some candy floss.
Bring the family, support Frome Carnival, raise money for local good causes and most importantly have fun!
Route begins at junction of Manor Road with The Butts, proceeds along The Butts, Butts Hill, Wesley Slope, Bath Street, Market Place, North Parade, Berkley Road, Badgers Hill and finishes by the Football Ground.
Disabled viewing, Lost children etc...
The map below details, disabled viewing areas, information for marshals, parking and lost children points.
Only buy from officer carnival sellers
Prior to 2017 all light up and flashing toys were sold by peddlers, who were not affiliated with the Carnival. This meant that we did not receive any money from these sales.
Our 2017 we started selling our own light up toys and thanks to the support of the wonderful Frome community, this was a huge success. In 2019, we want to build on this: selling a greater variety of items and more of them! Achieving this will mean a significant increase to our profits and in turn, more money being passed to the Frome Carnival Charity.
Where will you be selling from?
We have listened to feedback and we now have stalls in the by the Market Cross and The Vine Tree.
We will have two fixed stalls, one in the town centre and one near the Vine Tree pub.
Along the route we will have sellers pushing Asda Trollies (Thanks Asda!)
All of our sellers will be wearing Frome Carnival Tabards.
