Message from the Chairman

Welcome to Frome Carnival 2009 and it is happening thanks to the generous support we have received from several sources, in particular the donations given by KEVIN OF CORCORAN CARPETS, BRIAN OF RAINBOW INTERNATIONAL AND MENDIP SIGNS who kindly supplied our name boards on our Queen floats amongst other things.

As always, we must say a big thank you to the Frome Rotary members and their friends who organise the collection on Carnival Day. The transport provided during the week to take our Royal Party to the various nursing homes, the Hospital etc, is also very much appreciated. These visits are always looked forward to by the residents, staff etc and we are always made to feel very welcome.

Thanks must also go to the Football Club for their hospitality both on Carnival Night and our choosing ceremonies day.

The 2008 Carnival was a great success, both in the entrants efforts to provide everyone with good entries and the support given by the general public, the monies raised were then passed into the Registered Charity Account so that we can continue to assist FROME PEOPLE IN NEED.

We have during the last year helped many individuals and groups who have asked for help, including assisting a group to travel to Lourdes. If you or anyone you know is in need, please do not hesitate to contact myself or any Carnival Committee member. That's what we're about, trying to help those less fortunate than ourselves.

If you would like to have more information or would like us to come along to your group or organisation to speak, we would be delighted to do so. SO WE HOPE THAT YOU WILL ENJOY OUR 2009 CARNIVAL and give generously so that we may continue with your help to assist others. Have a good time. Thanks once again to everyone for their support.
