A Message from the Wessex Chairman

Hi,

Here we are just about to start the 2009 season and I thought it was time to introduce myself, Maryrose Mantle, the new Chairman of Wessex Carnival Circuit.
I would like to thank all Carnival entrants for their hard work in preparing for this season and encourage them to attend as many town carnivals as possible. Their efforts will be greatly appreciated by the public everywhere and will ensure that the Spirit of Carnival continues to survive in the West Country.

Without the donations from the public the Town Committees wouldn’t be able to put on these spectacular processions so I would urge everyone to dig deep into your pockets and give generously – let’s get the collecting buckets filled to the brim this year!

Finally I would like to wish all competitors the best of luck in 2009 and will pray for fine weather for all towns.

Carnival is fun – so make sure you are there to enjoy the party atmosphere!!
